Kevin Barton - Painting en Plein Air

Wonder by Kevin Barton, 20 x 40 oil painting

Kevin Barton of Petoskey, Michigan, enjoys capturing the specific details of a subject, yet he wants people to know they are looking at a "painting." To look at his style is to see the world made of paint.

Wonder, by Kevin Barton, 20" x 40" oil, imaged above, is a recent work and a great example of his approach to painting en Plein Air.

The heavily textured and brightly colored paintings that result, engage the viewers imagination and uniquely instill in them a sense of participating in something timeless while the sense of loose detail always gives the collector new things to find in a piece.

Kevin's painterly work frequently captures Best in Show Awards. In 2019, he was awarded Best in Show in the "Small Wonders" event at Paint Grand Traverse. He also won the Best in Show distinction in 2021 at Crooked Tree Art Center's "Play it Forward" Autumn Paint Out.
